A New Adventure

On Monday we decided it would be fun to go on a bike ride and tryout some Geocaching. My sister and her family have really enjoyed doing geocaching in New Hampshire so we thought we would give it a shot. We were amazed to see how many were so close to us. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's like a worldwide treasure hunt, you go to geochaching.com and type in a zip code or address and it pulls up all the different caches in that area. It gives you the coordinates and you enter that into you GPS and then you go see if you can find them. Being our first time and not knowing quite what to expect, it was a little harder then we thought. After mapping out our route and writing down 10 different caches that were on the same trail, we finally found our 1st cache on our 3rd attempt. We're not sure if our coordinates were off or what on the the 1st two, but the clue we had for the 3rd one did the trick! We were so excited to finally find one! In the jar they had a little note pad for you to sign and then a couple of little treasures. It's a take something, leave something kind of thing. The kids took a little toy truck and they left behind a bright pink golf ball. On our next search the GPS died on us, I guess we took too long and the Z-man fell asleep on the ride back so it worked out. We had a lot of fun, it was so nice to get out and enjoy the nice weather!

So fun! I've been wanting to try that out too! Glad you had luck on the 3rd one, my sister has had some bad luck doing that.
We need to take Emett to the drive in too! Fun ideas!!!

That sounds like a great adventure! I bet the kids loved it! Someday I'll get a GPS and give it a try.
